OK, here we go! I have only a couple more hours before we leave for another week so please excuse any errors in English or Spanish as we try to sum up what in the world has taken place over the last month. Vale, ¡aquí vamos! Sólo tengo un par de horas antes de irnos fuera, entonces, pido disculpas de antemano por cualquier error en castellano o inglés mientras intentamos resumir lo que ha pasado en estos últimos días. Yes 80 kids showed up and so did God about the third night. After doing the drama "Cuchillo" and hearing several of the Lithuanian Christians share, it was power time. Kari asked for only those who seriously wanted to respond to God to stay and 3/4 of the camp hung around to ask questions, pray and get right with God! Some amazing stories.
Sarah Meyer told her life´s testimony to her small group of 9 until she started bawling, and then they all started crying rivers and said, "Yes, we want to know this same Jesus that you know!" In Curtis, Jorge and Karim´s group, there were a couple of young guys who weren´t exactly choir boys. One of them told us on the first day of camp that he had been into Satanism, had read the Satanic Bible, Buddhist literature, etc., and probably would not be too interested in anything Christian that went on during the camp. The other was a sensitive guy who had many questions, but they were being answered one by one during small group times and just hanging out. Both opened themselves to be prayed for and were deeply touched. The former Satanist has made a full circle shift and has traded his death metal music for DC Talk and Toby Mac! Natalie´s group had similar reports and many, many more came thru to powerful encounters with the King of King´s Kids!
Sí, unos 80 chavales aparecieron al campamento, igual como la presencia de Dios! Después de hacer el teatro "Cuchillo" y escuchar los testimonios de varios de los Lituanos, fue un tiempo del poder de Dios. Kari pidió que se quedasen sólo las personas que en serio quisieron responder a Dios para charlar y orar y 3/4 del campmento lo hicieron. Algunos acontecimientos geniales sucedieron. Sara Meyer contó el testimonio de su experiencias hasta que todo de su grupo pequeño estaba llorando. Cuando les pidió si quisieron entregar sus vidas a Cristo, todos las nueve chicas respondieron que sí! En el grupo de Curtis,
Jorge y Karim, hubo dos chicos que no fueron exactamento ayudantes del sacerdote. Uno nos dijo el primer día que había estudiado la Biblia Satánica y que estaba metido en Budismo,etc., y que a lo mejor no tendría muco interés en cualquier enseñanza cristiana. El otro fue más sensible, pero con muchas preguntas que fueron contestado uno por uno mientras pasaban los días. Los dos se abrieron para recibir oración y El Señor les tocó profundamente. El ex-Satanista ha hecho un giro radical y ha cambiado su música de Death Metal para DC Talk y Toby McKeon! El grupo de Natalie
tenía historias semejantes y muchos, muchos fueron tocados profundamente por el amor y perdón del Señor aquella noche. We were a bit teary-eyed to break camp on Friday but most of the gang found us again as we made our way to Klaipeda for the Sea Festival. Quite a party as over a quarter million revelers hit the streets every night from all over Lithuania and the Baltic region. Our Spanish Flamenco dances and routines were a hit and we were guaranteed at least fifty shiny faces at every performance as the campers, who all lived in Klaipeda, stayed with us thru as much of the time as possible.
After a stopover in Prague where we managed to book into a Spanish chain Hotel (yes, Jorge kissed the marble floor when he found out they had Spanish TV and newspapers), we arrived back to a bunch of hugs and stories form the other teams. Tuvimos que esconder algunas lágrimas cuando el campamento se cerró el viernes, pero la mayoría de la piña nos encontraron durante el Festival del Mar en Klaipeda a unos 80 km. Vaya fiesta con más de 250,000 festejantes de todo Lituania y los países alrededor vagando por las calles con centenares de conciertos y actividades. Nuestros bailes flamencos y actuaciones fueron muy bien acogidos y se garantizó por lo mínimo 50 caras bonitas (nuestros campistas) en cada actuación porque todos viven en Klaipeda.
Después de una escala en Praga, donde estuvimos alojado en un hotel de cadena español (sí, Jorge besó el suelo cuando encontró un ejemplar del PAIS y TVE en la tele de la habitacion). Por fin, el día 29 llegamos a Barcelona para hundirnos en los abrazos de los otros King´s y contar historia tras historia sobre la gracia del Señor manifestada en las vidas de algunos chavales que se atrevesaron creer que Dios les podía utilizar. 2003, a year of dreams come true as young Spanish missionaries fanned out to the corners of Europe, changing the history of this nation from a missionary receiving nation, to one that sends.
